Applix (“Applix,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at applix.app and the Applix application (collectively, the “Service”). Applix is a resume and cover letter generation tool that uses artificial intelligence to help job seekers create customized, ATS-optimized career documents.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect your personal information when you visit our website, create an account, or use any part of the Service. It also explains your privacy rights and how to exercise them.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Service.

We collect what you give us (your resume data, account info), what our systems generate (your tailored documents), and some technical data about how you use the Service.

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Account information: name, email address, and password when you create an account
• Resume and career data: work history, education, skills, certifications, professional summary, and any other information you input or upload
• Job posting URLs: links to job postings you provide for resume tailoring
• Communication data: messages you send to our support team or feedback you provide
• Payment information: billing details processed by Stripe. Applix never directly collects, stores, or processes your credit card number.

2.2 Information Generated by the Service

• AI-generated documents: tailored resumes, cover letters, and related content
• Match scores and optimization data: keyword match percentages and ATS compatibility assessments

2.3 Information Collected Automatically

• Device and browser data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and screen resolution
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, click patterns, session duration, and referring URLs
• Approximate geolocation: derived from your IP address (city/region level only)
• Cookies and similar technologies: as described in Section 10

2.4 Information from Job Postings

When you paste a job posting URL, our system accesses the publicly available content at that URL to extract job requirements, qualifications, and keywords. This data is used solely to tailor your resume and cover letter. We extract only factual elements and retain scraped job posting data for a maximum of 90 days.

We use your data to generate your tailored documents, run the Service, communicate with you, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information.

• To provide the Service: generating tailored resumes and cover letters, processing job posting URLs, and managing your account
• To communicate with you: sending account-related notifications, responding to support requests, and (with your consent) sending marketing emails
• To improve the Service: analyzing usage patterns, diagnosing technical issues, and developing new features using aggregated and anonymized data
• To ensure security: detecting fraud, preventing abuse, and protecting users and the Service
• To comply with legal obligations: responding to lawful requests and complying with applicable laws

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

Our AI reads the job posting you provide and uses your career profile to generate a tailored resume and cover letter. Your data is sent to our third-party AI provider for processing, but they are contractually prohibited from using your data to train their models.

• Your career profile data and job posting information are sent to our AI provider's API for processing
• Our AI provider processes this data solely to generate your tailored documents
• Our AI provider retains API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days for trust and safety purposes
• Our AI provider is contractually prohibited from using your data to train or improve their AI models

AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated documents before use.

We share data with a small number of service providers who help us run Applix. Each one is contractually required to protect your data.

We keep your data only as long as we need it. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, and download your data. You can opt out of marketing emails anytime.

7.1 Rights for All Users

• Access: View and download your data through account settings
• Correction: Update your profile and account information directly
• Deletion: Delete your account by contacting info@humos.io or through account settings (completed within 30 days)
• Marketing opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails anytime

7.2 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

• Right to Know: Request categories and pieces of personal information collected
• Right to Delete: Request deletion of personal information
• Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate information
• Right to Opt Out: We do not sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising
• Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate for exercising privacy rights

7.3 EU/EEA Residents (GDPR)

• Lawful basis: Contract performance, legitimate interests, and consent
• Data subject rights: Access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, and objection
• International transfers: EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses
• Right to complain: Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

7.4 Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Applix honors Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals.

We implement commercially reasonable measures to protect your personal information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest
• Payment card data handled entirely by Stripe (PCI DSS-compliant)
• Access controls and authentication for internal systems
• Regular security assessments and monitoring

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If we become aware of a data breach, we will notify you and applicable authorities as required by law.

The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly. Contact us at info@humos.io if you believe a child under 18 has provided us with personal information.

We use essential cookies to make the Service work, and optional analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings.

• Strictly necessary cookies: Required for the Service to function (cannot be disabled)
• Analytics cookies: Help us understand usage patterns (aggregated data only)
• Stripe cookies: Stripe may set cookies on pages where payment elements are loaded

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

• Transactional emails: Account verification, password resets, billing confirmations (not marketing)
• Marketing emails: Only sent with explicit opt-in consent; unsubscribe anytime

The Service may contain links to third-party websites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Applix does not sell your personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as described in Section 7.4.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
